I was born May 8th 1977, in a small town way up north in Sweden, called Piteå.
My musical “carrier” started when I was in third grade. My friend Stefan and I were going to choose an instrument for the orchestra and our friend David was playing the clarinet. Stefan wanted to play the same instrument as David and I wanted to play the same as Stefan, so I became a clarinet player. After three month I was sick of the clarinet but I continued for seven more years.
One day, right before I turned 17, my brother came to our parents’ house. I was out in the backyard with the lawn mover when Peter needed to talk to me. He told me that the bass player of their band had decided to leave the band and they needed a new one. I had never touched a bass so I sad, sure!
So, that’s the story of how I started to play the bass.
If I have to be honest, I really don’t like to practice. I rather listen to music than sitting and playing for my self. So, what am I listening to? Well, when it comes to bass players I like groovy players like Roscoe Beck, Francis Rocco Prestia, Billy Sheehan, Randy Jackson, Jerry Watts jr., Anthony Jackson and so on. When it comes to bands I listen to everything with heavy guitars and a good melody.
